In the Pitch+Press exercise, I practiced my foundational PR skills, writing both a press release and a pitch email to a targeted journalist. The press release served to announce Solvent Blue’s partnership with the actual non-profit, Adventure Scientists. As a product of the partnership, Solvent Blue also announced reRoot, an employee satisfaction program. Compiling information about Solvent Blue and reRoot through class and Adventure Scientists through a call with Communications Director Kascie Herron, I wrote a press release highlighting the most important information in an exciting way.
